@Sydney, AU Build things to transform complex challenges into beautiful solutions, combining frontend expertise with full-stack capabilities
Hello,
I started coding in 2020, following a Unity tutorial every night while working as a PM in an e-commerce company. I enjoyed turning complex issues into simple and beautiful crafts using both tech and management skills. 🙂 I've worked in frontend engineering at a global medical AI company, leading tech challenges in data visualization, collaborating on a design system, and building platforms to help doctors utilize AI models for improved diagnoses. There, I was often told I was 'sensitive in a good way' when designing suitable models for page/UI states or proposing enhanced UX solutions for colleagues. In my free time, I enjoy developing cute things that don't make money, but here's what I've actually been paid to do :D
Lunit _Jan 2022 - Jul 2024
Lunit develops a medical AI platform to detect early-stage cancer and optimize cancer treatment, providing solutions to 1000+ hospitals worldwide.
Frontend In General
- Architected the common component API, structured page/UI state model, and implemented features such as authentication, dashboard, and canvas for X-ray images to build 3 medical platforms.
- Collaborated for over 2 years with a team of designers and developers to define a unified language for the company-wide Design System, developing a color system to meet complex requirements, implementing the Dialog without MUI library to reduce dependency issues, and driving the migration of Storybook to version 7 for better developer experience.
- Contributed more than 30% of unit tests, ensuring no critical bugs in the Auth system or other major features, and fixing related issues within that process.
Frontend in Data Visualization
- Led the tech initiative to select the appropriate library and created a prototype of a Chart library in a CSR environment, spreading best practices to the engineering team.
- Accelerated the development process by exploring 150+ patients' data per hospital and chart modeling in collaboration with Project Managers and Designers, identifying solutions in the early stages of the project.
- Redesigned the schema for chart data to reduce over-fetching and under-fetching issues, working with other engineers using knowledge gained from leading data visualization efforts.
Backend in General
- Designed the architecture and developed REST API in an on-premise environment, handling database operations on local machines.
- Implemented EmailQueue table and API, allowing the system to stably send follow-up emails to users who had agreed to data usage, enhancing user engagement and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- After Version 1, migrated the on-premise service to the web via AWS, excluding private features and compressing large X-ray images with an Nginx server to reduce server resources and network costs by around 30%.
11Street _Jan 2020 - Aug 2020
An iconic Korean e-commerce service with over 50,000,000 users, achieving a cumulative transaction value of more than 3 trillion KRW.
Project Managing
- Designed wireframes for back-office services to meet seller/merchandiser requirements and improve the sales pipeline. Collaborated with over five teams, including designers and engineers, and tracked user engagement metrics from logs.
- Revamped category structures for the second half of 2020, realigning them with evolving product trends by redesigning backend service databases.
